Our mission
To promote work agendas, action mechanisms and
projects, building effective relationships and flows of knowledge among the
public, research, education and business sectors, to convert knowledge,
science and technology in dynamic factors for economic and social progress. All of the above, considering the
development of the knowledge society at the national and international scopes.
Localization
The Science and Technology Centre of Antioquia is
located in Medellín, capital of the department of Antioquia, in Colombia.
Departments are Colombian political and administrative divisions, equal to
states or provinces in other countries. 
Its work is developed mainly in Antioquia, but also
has made some interventions in Colombia
and even outside the country.

The CTA´s work agenda develops the institutional
mission through strategies materialized in innovative and positive-change-generating
projects, grouped in three action lines,
shaping the work agenda:
Education
Line
The challenge is to improve the quality of education for children and adolescents, with focus on
educational communities associated with basic and media education, mainly from
the public sector.
This, with the implementation of a comprehensive and
holistic model of school management,
where both learning contexts and the creation of conditions to generate a
culture of science and technology are considerate, through classroom,
institutional and local management.
Productivity
Line
CTA´s Productivity line generates collaboration and
creative articulation of actors through the creation of conditions and
interventions in strategic sectors, allowing economic and social development,
by the design, coordination and implementation of permanent practices to improve productivity and local,
national and international innovation.
Competitive
Platforms Line
It promotes cooperation
between generators and users of knowledge, in sectors and strategic issues for
Antioquia´s development. Specially to propiciate the strengthen in scientific
and technological knowledge to improve the competitiveness of organizations,
such as sole proprietorships or collective systems with priority in water,
biotechnology and medicine sectors, as well as those with regional
competitiveness agreements.
